Uzbekistan has reached an agreement with Kazakhstan on use of Omsk-Pavlodar- Shymkent oil pipeline for the crude supplies to its oil refineries. It was declared by Alisher Sultanov, Chairman of the Board of Uzbekneft National Holding Company. Apparently, it concerns the deliveries of Russian crudes to Uzbekistan. Previously, Kirill Molodtsov, Russia’s Deputy Minister of Energy, said that until the end of March, the authorized structures of Russia and Uzbekistan shall prepare their proposals on effective mechanism of Russian oil deliveries to the country, reports Sputnik.
According to his opinion, currently, the oil pipeline system for supplies to Uzbekistan, which operated during the Soviet times, requires a technical study, in particular, with participation of Kazakhstani partners. The oil refineries utilization in Uzbekistan equals to 60% due to depletion of own fields. According to the official data, production of liquid hydrocarbons in Uzbekistan decreased in 2.2 times: from 7.24 mln tons in 2002 to 3.17 mln in 2012, including the crude oil production, which dropped to 1.56 mln (reduction in 2.6 times).
