Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. (KPO) has announced that the partners in the Karachaganak project have signed an agreement sanctioning the Karachaganak Debottlenecking Project (KGDBN Project).
Edwin Blom, KPO General Director, said: “The sanctioning of the KGDBN Project is a significant milestone in the continued development of the Karachaganak field. Aimed at extending the duration of the liquid production plateau, the KGDBN Project will bring significant additional value for the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Karachaganak Partners. The project will also provide resources for further investment projects on the field”.
The KGDBN project will enable the processing of up to 4 BCMA of additional volumes of raw gas. These volumes will be used for reinjection to maximize incremental production of liquids by 10 million tons.
The implementation of the KGDBN Project will help maintain maximum production levels at the Karachaganak field while maximizing local content during its execution.
