Kazakhstan raised its oil output in July to 1.331 million barrels per day (bpd), by 2% from June, two industry sources familiar with preliminary data told Reuters on Monday, meaning the country was slightly over its target under a global pact among producers.
According to Reuters calculations, that was 12,000 bpd above Kazakhstan's target under a deal between members of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and allies, a grouping know as OPEC+.
The Energy Ministry did not reply to a request for comment.
The former Soviet Union country agreed to cut its May-July output by 23% from November 2018 levels, or by 22% from its average output in the first quarter of 2020, to around 1.319 million bpd.
