Tengizchevroil presents 10 Kamaz trucks to Atyrau City Akimat
Atyrau, April 27, 2017 – Today Ted Etchison, General Director, Tengizchevroil LLP (TCO) presented 10 Kamaz trucks to Serik Shapkenov, Atyrau City Akim.
In recent years, Atyrau has experienced difficulties with flooding which requires specialized equipment to remove excess water. The TCO gift today is to help the Akimat respond to this problem.
"On behalf of the city authorities and the residents, we express our sincere gratitude to Tengizchevroil for constant support in preventing emergencies in Atyrau city. This equipment will allow us to more effectively combat the results of overflow, river spills and other natural and industrial accidents," – Serik Shapkenov said in his speech.
Donated equipment was purchased locally contributing to TCO’s support of Kazakhstani Content.
"Today we make this donation, that fits perfectly with our goal to support communities where we work, so that Atyrau has its own capacity to deal with any future flooding situations and other emergency situations," – said Ted Etchison.
In the ceremony ten trucks were presented to the City Akim.
Tengizchevroil LLP (TCO) is a Kazakhstani partnership that explores, develops, produces and markets crude oil, LPG, dry gas and sulfur. TCO conducts its operations in accordance with world- class safety and environmental standards. In April 1993, Tengizchevroil was formed between the Republic of Kazakhstan and Chevron Corporation. Current partners are: Chevron Overseas Company, 50 percent; KazMunayGas NC JSC, 20 percent; ExxonMobil Kazakhstan Ventures Inc., 25 percent and LUKARCO B.V., 5 percent.
The Future Growth Project (FGP) and Wellhead Pressure Management Project (WPMP) are two integrated projects that are being executed simultaneously by Tengizchevroil LLP. FGP will increase Tengiz crude oil production capacity by about 12 million tonnes per year/260,000 barrels per day to about 39 million tonnes per year/850,000 barrels per day. While FGP will expand production, WPMP will keep the existing Tengiz plants at full capacity by lowering the flowing pressure at the wellhead and then boosting the pressure to the inlet requirements of the six existing processing trains.
