October, 2013Tender
In Kazakhstan, the tender exhibited four oil and gas onshore blocks. According to Trend agency, this was announced by the Minister of Oil and Gas of the Republic of Kazakhstan Uzakbai Karabalin at the Kazakh-Canada Business Forum in Calgary (Canada).
Karabalin noted that "next year the number will be doubled," adding that the tenders for the development of new oil and gas blocks can involve not only domestic but also foreign companies. The main condition for participating in projects on the territory of Kazakhstan, announced by the Kazakhstan's Minister referring to the words of the President of the Republic, is that investors "have to introduce new technologies."
The Minister did not mention any other details. We remind that since 2008 there was a moratorium on the issuance of licenses for subsurface management in Kazakhstan. The ban was connected to the need in developing new tax laws and was lifted in January 2013. The repeal only affected the sites located on land.
