On April 12, in Almaty, on the territory of the Industrial Zone in Alatau district, a solemn ceremony of laying the capsule took place, which gave the start to the construction of the country's first high-tech factory for the production of large-diameter welded steel pipes for the transportation of oil, gas, water and oil products, and for using in the mining, construction, chemical and power industries.
The project is implemented by a specially created company – Asia Steel Pipe Corporation LLP. The ceremony was attended by: Mr. B. Baibek, the Mayor of Almaty, Mr. S. Mynbayev, the Chairman of the Board of “NC KazMunayGas” JSC, Mr. A. Burlibayev, the General Director of “Industrial Zone - Almaty” LLP, Mr. Zhang Jianhua, CEO of CNPC Corporation, and Mr. Bian Dezhi, CEO of “CNNC International in Kazakhstan” LLP. The capsule laying is another step in the framework of the joint development program of JSC NC "KazMunayGas" and the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC). And this is the first project in the Republic of Kazakhstan, not related to the raw materials industry, invested by CNPC.
Commissioning of the plant is planned for mid-2018 year. Production is located in the territory of the industrial park in Alatau district of Almaty city. Estimated annual capacity of the plant will be up to 100 thousand tons of pipes with diameters from 355 mm to 1420 mm. The cost of the investment portfolio is estimated at 100 million US dollars. This is the first plant in the country that can produce large-diameter pipes.
The products will be produced in accordance with both international standards and the only standard in the RoK for the production of steel pipes. This will make possible to sell the products both domestically and internationally. Implementation of the project will allow obtaining a modern pipe products for the needs of not only the domestic oil and gas industry, but also other sectors of the industry and housing and public utility.
