BackExxonMobil Kazakhstan Inc. Announces New Managing Director
Effective April 1, 2019, Exxon Mobil Corporation, a leading international oil and gas major, announced the appointment of Mr. Dinesh Sivasamboo as Managing Director of its Kazakhstan affiliate, ExxonMobil Kazakhstan Inc., succeeding Cheryl Gomez-Smith. Prior to this position, Dinesh was Executive Director of ExxonMobil PNG Limited, the company’s affiliate in Papua New Guinea. He joined ExxonMobil in 1992 and progressed through various assignments in engineering, operations, projects and planning. He has also served as the Senior Upstream Advisor for Exxon Mobil Corporation. Over the years, he has held various technical and leadership roles of increasing responsibility at ExxonMobil working in the Malaysia, United States, Qatar and Papua New Guinea. Dinesh has received his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the RMIT University (Melbourne, Australia). ExxonMobil has more than 25 years of continuous business involvement in Kazakhstan. The company owns a 25% interest in the Tengizchevroil joint venture, which operates the giant Tengiz field, 16.81% in the North Caspian Production Sharing Agreement that includes the world-class Kashagan field, and a 7.5% interest in the Caspian Pipeline Consortium. With volume of investment surpassing $22 billion to date, ExxonMobil is committed to remain one of the largest foreign investors in the Republic.
