North Caspian Operating Company B.V. plans to produce 1.1 mln tons of sulphur annually during the Kashagan oilfield development project. This was reported in the press-service of the Ministry of Energy of the RoK in response to the request of Kazinform Agency.
Sulphur storage location at the Bolashak processing plant allows to store up to 4 mln tons. Sulphur will be stored only on a temporary basis. Project shareholders intend to sell the produced sulphur. Sulphur will be exported using special infrastructure, created in the West Esken.
On average, approximately 1.1 mln tons of suplhur per year will be produced throughout the project (3,800 tons of sulphur per day or about 70 cars). Storage location allows to accumulate up to 4 mln tons of sulphur”, was said in response to the request.
