Petrofac has won a $135 m (£106.6 m) contract in Kazakhstan in a joint venture with locally-based Isker Group.
The Engineering, Procurement, Consruction, Pre-commissioning and Commissioning (EPCC) work is for new water treating facilities at the city of Atyrau.
Petrofac and Isker were awarded the 30-month project by North Caspian Operating Company (NCOC), who own the North Caspan project, the first major offshore oil and gas development in the country.
NCOC started production at the Kasagan field in 2016, which has now ramped up to 380,000 barrels per day.
Managing director for Petrofac EPS East, Mani Rajapathy, said: “Our portfolio continues to expand with this award, which demonstrates continued progress in our stated EPS strategy to grow the business through relatively small EPC contracts.
This is a further award for Petrofac in Kazakhstan following our project management services contract with KPO and represents another important milestone as we focus on continued growth in-country and delivering EPC projects whilst working with local companies.”
