Tengizchevroil (TCO) plans to drill around 100 more bore holes before 2022 at the Tengiz field, said the geophysicist of the company’s reservoir management Zhanibek Katrenov. “Today there are 130 bore holes at the Tengiz field, among which 90 bore holes produce oil. It is planned to drill about 100 bore holes within the Future Growth Project and Wellhead Pressure Management Project (FGP-WPMP).
This drilling will continue for the next few years, until around 2021 or 2022”, - he told reporters during a media tour to the oil field. Tengizchevroil is developing the Tengiz and Korolevskoe oil and gas fields in the Atyrau region in Kazakhstan. The participants of Tengizchevroil LLP are Chevron (50%) and ExxonMobil Kazakhstan Ventures Inc (25%), Kazakhstan via the National Company KazMunayGas (20%), and Russian-American joint venture LUKArco (5%). The company operates since 1993.
