CNPC In Kazakhstan: Reliable Partner and Important Investor

The year 2022 was marked by a landmark event in the energy industry – the 25th anniversary of oil and gas cooperation between Kazakhstan and China. It was successfully launched in 1997 with the arrival of the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) in the Kazakhstan market. It is a well-known international integrated energy company, one of the three leaders of the world's oil giants, conducting oil and gas operations in 38 countries.

Aryskum: a Field with a Rich History and a Promising Future

Aryskum, a field with a rich history, is PetroKazakhstan's second largest oil producing hub after Kumkol. More than 260 oil workers work here (rotating in shifts) and full-scale infrastructure facilities have been built there, which, among other things, are used for the needs of the nearby fields Kyzylkiya, North-West Kyzylkiya, Karabulak and South-West Karabulak.

EY Presented the Results of the Investment Attractiveness of the Kazakhstan Study

During the Investment Attractiveness of Kazakhstan conference in Astana, the results of a study from EY conducted among existing and potential foreign investors were presented. The conference was attended by representatives of state bodies of Kazakhstan, foreign investors, and participants of business associations. During the discussion, the key issues of the study were discussed: factors influencing the choice of the country of investment, attractive industries that, according to investors, will attract the most significant investments, and risks and proposals to improve the investment climate in Kazakhstan.

Production decreased – export declined

In 2020, Kazakhstan's revenue from the total volume of exports of products amounted to 41.2 bln US dollars. This is 28% less than in 2019 ($57.7 bln).
