KazMunaiGas national company does not plan to reduce production personnel. This was announced at a meeting with governors of Atyrau and Mangystau regions by the chairman of the board of KMG, Alik Aidarbayev.
As part of anti-crisis measures throughout the group of companies, expenses were reduced by 146 billion tenge. The organisational structure of the central office was revised and the headcount was optimised by 34%.
"The salaries of top managers were reduced by 30%, of middle managers by 20%, and all bonuses were cancelled until the end of the year. Salaries of ordinary employees were left at the same level. The central office refused to use company vehicles for management," he recalled.
As for subsidiaries, all expenses that did not affect the production and employment of personnel were reduced.
"Depending on the situation, we will continue to optimise costs. We are not going to reduce production staff. This is our main principle to preserve jobs. I am sure that we will overcome all difficulties by joint efforts," Alik Aidarbaev said.
The situation at the Tengiz field in connection with the spread of COVID-19 was discussed with the governor of Atyrau region Makhambet Dosmukhambetov, the press service of KMG reported. With the governor of the Mangystau region, Serikbay Trumov, the organisation of a shift work at mining enterprises was considered.
At a meeting with the heads of subsidiaries, service companies and chairmen of trade union organisations, Aidarbayev noted that due to the taken anti-epidemiological measures, the situation in the fields is stable.
