Since May 21, 2012, by the decision of the company’s only shareholder, Zhanat Tusupbekov has been appointed to the post of a new general director of Rompetrol Group. Prior to this assignment, he held the post of general director of JSC KazMunayGas Processing & Marketing, subsidiary of the national company KazMunayGas (КМG). Rompetrol Group is part of КМG since 2007, informs KMG’s press-service.
Saduokhas Meraliyev, earlier holding the post of general director, will continue his career in Rompetrol Group but already as a member of the board of directors.
“This transfer is a natural continuation of the final and major stage of Rompetrol Group’s development within which the program has been implemented and completed for modernization and increase in processing capacities of Petromedia oil refinery up to 5 million tons of crude.
Also, the process of consolidation and optimization of operations as well as the integration of Rompetrol Group into the structure of KMG’s group of companies have been completed. Thus, all necessary preconditions were created to continue KMG’s expansion plans not only in the Black Sea region, but also in Western Europe,” stressed Lyazzat Kiinov, President of JSC NC KazMunayGas, at the meeting of the company’s management body.
Zhanat Tusupbekov was born in 1977. In 1998 he graduated from the faculty of law at the Karaganda State University. He is working in the oil and gas industry since 2005. For several years he occupied the posts of the executive director, deputy general director on retail of Trade House KazMunayGas (nowadays, JSC KazMunayGas - Processing & Marketing). Also, he held the post of general director of KazMunayGas Оnimderi, the company which is engaged in the marketing of petroleum products in the territory of Kazakhstan through its own network of gas stations.
Simultaneously with the appointment of the new general director, also other personnel transfers were held in the company: Timur Azimov will take the post of the vice-president on trading, while Azamat Zhangulov – the post of the deputy general director on finance.
