Reorganization of the headquarters of KazMunayGas NC JSC is completed, as reported by the press centre of the national company. The need for reorganization of the KMG, which includes 239 subsidiaries and affiliates, was call forth by limited impact on the business activities of subsidiaries and affiliates, as well as by overlapping with its largest subsidiary companies (KazTransOil JSC, KazTransGas JSC, and KazMunayGas - Refining & Marketing JSC, etc.).
As a result of restructuring, a divisional organisation by business areas was implemented within KMG to optimize the performance. Top managers of the key subsidiaries became members of the Board of KMG, new positions of Managing Director were introduced as well as substantial optimization of the KMG‘s production units was undertaken followed by strengthening the production units of subsidiaries and affiliates. All service units were concentrated in the corporate centre of KMG with establishing a vertical subordination among the similar units of subsidiaries and affiliates (business and finance, human resource management, information technology, legal support, and procurement).
KMG's management team is consist of: Mr Sauat Mynbaev, Chairman of the Board; Mr Daniyar Berlibaev, Deputy Chairman of the Board for the headquarters; Mr Kayrgeldy Kabyldin, Vice Chairman of the Board for oil transportation - Director General of the KazTransOil JSC; Mr Serik Sultangali, Deputy Chairman of the Board for gas transportation and marketing - Director General of the KazTransGas JSC; Mr Daniyar Tiesov, Deputy Chairman of the Board for oil processing and marketing - Director General of the KazMunayGas - Processing & Marketing JSC; and Mr Nurtas Shmanov, Deputy Chairman of the Board for service projects. A number of departments in the KMG’s Headquarters were reduced, merged and renamed during the restructuring.
Now, the number of employees in the Headquarters is 376. Within the frame of restructuring and based on partition of the Kazakh Institute of Oil and Gas JSC under the KazMunayGaz, a research institute for drilling and production technologies was established, which will possess the right to provide compulsory examination and approval of production technologies applied in the subsidiaries and affiliates. Highly qualified foreign specialists will be appointed to the posts of the First Deputy Chairman of the KMG’s Board, who will be in charge of exploration and production, the Managing Director for information technology, and the Director of the Scientific and Research Institute for Drilling and Production Technology. At the same time, the managing directors of production units, the chief geologist of KMG and the director of the above-mentioned institute will be subordinated and shall report to the First Deputy Chairman of the Board.
