As the press-service of the Company informs, a full-scale construction of the Deep Oil Refining Complex (DORC) at the Atyrau refinery will begin in the second quarter of 2010. Currently, the design of the facility, placing orders for the supply of equipment and materials, is being carried out.
The cost of the project is 1 billion and 680 million USD. This complex is designed for 2.4 million tons of raw material processing (vacuum gas oil, heavy fuel oil) per year, which will increase the production of high-octane gasoline, aviation fuel and diesel. All motor fuel will match the standard Euro-5.
A contract for the construction of the DORC was signed on December 29, 2011, between the Oil refinery and a Consortium of companies, including Sinopec Engineering (China), Marubeni Corporation (Japan) and JSC KazStroyService (Kazakhstan). The export-import Bank of China has provided a loan to refinery for this project, in the amount of more than 1.13 billion USD.
The refinery has also signed a loan agreement with the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) and the Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi UFJ valued as 297,5 million USD for the implementation of the DORC project, with the State Bank of Development of Kazakhstan as 252 million USD. Design and survey works on the project were executed by the Russian Company "Omskneftehimproekt". Last year, Atyrau refinery processed 4 million 429.5 thousands tons of oil, and this year is planning to recycle 4.8 million tons.
