In December 2016 it is planned to resume the commercial oil production at Kashagan field in Kazakhstan's sector of the Caspian offshore,- said the Minister of National Economy Yerbolat Dossayev during the Government meeting, TASS reported. "If we talk about the main industries, next year we will continue implementation of the major projects in the oil and gas sector.
In December 2016, it is planned to start the commercial production at Kashagan field,"-said Mr.Dossayev. Production at Kashagan was started in September of 2013, but in October it was stopped due to a leak on one of the main pipelines. As a result of the carried researches, it was decided to complete the replacement of two pipelines, connecting the Caspian offshore oilfield with the onshore oil treatment infrastructure. As stated by the Akim (Governor) of Atyrau region Bakhtykozha Izmukhambetov, the pipe replacement work is currently going ahead of schedule.
