November 2020Diesel fuel
The Kazakh authorities intend to extend the ban on the import of diesel fuel until April 2021, the press service of the Ministry of Energy of the republic said. “We plan to extend the ban on diesel imports until April next year, with the exception of winter and arctic fuels. I would like to note that the final decision on this issue has not yet been made, but there are prerequisites for an overstocking of diesel fuel on the domestic market,” Energy Minister Nurlan Nogayev said.
The country's authorities took measures during the coronavirus pandemic to exclude the overstocking of storage facilities. “Thanks to this, we avoided the shutdown of our plants and were able to maintain a balance in the domestic fuel and lubricants market,” the minister explained. On October 13, the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan banned the import of gasoline, aviation and diesel fuel into the republic by rail, road and pipeline transport until November 1, 2020. Such measures will ensure a comfortable balance between the volumes of produced and consumed petroleum products, the department explained.
