New Spe Caspian Conference Series Tackles Opportunities And Challenges In Region’s E&P Industry

– The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) introduces The SPE Annual Caspian Technical Conference and Exhibition (CTCE), November 12- 14 2014 in Astana, Kazakhstan, where senior executives and decision-makers from the Caspian oil and gas industry are due to speak at the region’s inaugural technical conference this autumn.
More than 500 oil and gas industry professionals from IOCs, NOCs, government representatives, service companies, and others are expected to attend and contribute to the event.
Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from top-level speakers, network with peers, and visit exhibitors showcasing the latest technologies and products.
Hosted by Shell, and held in partnership with the Kazakh Ministry of Oil & Gas and KAZENERGY, the conference will include four panel sessions which will explore the issues faced by the E&P industry in Kazakhstan and the broader Caspian region. Issues to be tackled include Kazakhstan’s long-term technology development strategy, regional technological challenges in oil and gas transportation, local capacity-building and technological innovation and collaboration.
Keynote speakers will include Magzum Mirzagaliyev, vice-minister, Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Campbell Keir, country chair and vice president, Shell Kazakhstan. There will also be anticipated high profile speakers from KMG, KAZENERGY, KPO, TCO, NCOC, Chevron and ExxonMobil.
There will also be a busy technical programme consisting of 18 sessions looking further into a range of hot topics in the Caspian region. Sessions will include:

- Reservoir Description and Dynamics
- Reservoir Management
- Artificial Lift Applications
- Environmental Stewardship
- Improved Oil Recovery/Enhanced Oil Recovery
