The volume of oil shipped through the sea terminal of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium in the port of Novorossiysk in January-July 2021 amounted to 35.29 million tonnes, which is 1.2% less than the same period in 2020 at 31.72 million tonnes. This follows from the statistics provided by the CPC press service. Since the beginning of this year, 340 vessels have been handled.
In July, shipments at the CPC marine terminal amounted to 5 million 261 thousand 845 gross tonnes, which is 15.6% more than in the same period last year. In July 2021, 50 tankers were loaded at the terminal.
Of the 5 million 261 thousand 845 tonnes of oil shipped in July 2021, 2 million 358 thousand 292 tonnes is oil from the Tengiz field, 904 thousand 285 tonnes is oil from the Karachaganak field, 1 million 252 thousand 338 tonnes is oil from the Kashagan field, and also 16,050 tonnes of oil from other Kazakhstani producers.
In total, Kazakh shippers shipped 4 million 530 thousand 565 tonnes of oil in July, another 730 thousand 880 tonnes of shipped oil came from the territory of Russia. The shipping schedule for July has been fully completed.
From 2001 to July 31, 2021 inclusive, the CPC Marine Terminal handled 6,987 tankers. During this period, 740 million 158 thousand 169 tonnes of net oil were supplied to world markets through the Tengiz-Novorossiysk oil pipeline system. Of these, 645 million 302 thousand 611 tonnes are oil from Kazakhstan and 94 million 855 thousand 558 tonnes of oil produced in Russia.
As previously reported, the general director of the company Nikolay Gorban noted that for export via the CPC system through the sea terminal in Novorossiysk, according to the existing applications of shippers, it is planned to transport 67.5 million tonnes in 2021, while the consortium is ready to satisfy all the needs of shippers, taking into account its own growing technical capabilities.
