KAMAZ: Beyond the Competition!
The notion of brand became a part of our lives. This word is used for the products and goods, proven by years of irreproachable service. Therefore, saying about the brand for the oilmen (and not only for them), its worth mentioning KAMAZ, popular in the former-USSR countries.

KAMAZ was founded in 1969 as the Kamsky set of plants, producing the heavy-duty vehicles (production association of KAMAZ). In 1990, the KAMAZ was transformed into a Joint Stock Company KAMAZ, which now is the largest automotive corporation in Russian Federation, occupying 16th place among the world’s leading manufacturers of heavy trucks.
The process chain group consists of 12 large automotive production plants. JSC KAMAZ supplies a wide range of trucks in the market:
- trucks (over 40 models, more than 1500 various configurations, cars with right-hand drive);
- trailers;
- buses;
- tractors;
- engines;
- power units;
- different tools.
Today, the KAMAZ Group of Companies includes over 150 organizations, located in Russia, CIS and abroad, employing more than 45 thousand people. In 2012, the number of produced trucks amounted to 51000 units; more than 45000 of them were sold in the Russian market.

In the Russian market among the trucks with gross weight over 16 tons, KAMAZ has a share of 38%, and in the class of 8-16 tons its share is 15%. KAMAZ is the absolute leader in the class of heavy trucks in Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and some other countries. It can be explained by the advantages of KAMAZ vehicles, which are:
- easy to maintain, reliable and high quality trucks with low running costs at the reasonable prices;
- KAMAZ offers a wide line of products;
- wide geography: KAMAZ vehicles will move on any road and climate conditions: in the Far North regions, tropics, deserts and high mountains;
- extensive service network in Kazakhstan: warranty service up to 75 000 km of mileage.
- permanent availability of basic modifications of vehicles in the stock.
All of these allows the company to ensure a proactive, balanced and independent price policy in the market, focusing primarily on the market demand and the optimum balance between the price and quality.

KAMAZ came to Kazakhstan in 2005, with creation of the Trade Company KAMAZ, an official distributor in the market of Kazakhstan for the construction, road-building, oil and gas, agriculture, municipal and other vehicles, produced by the JSC KAMAZ Group of Companies.
It should be highlighted that almost at the same time as KAMAZ Trade Company, on July 2, 2005, JSC KAMAZ established its own production plant for car assembly in Kokshetau, in cooperation with the National Company Kazakhstan Engineering “. Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, attended the opening ceremony. On August 5 of the same year, the first truck and bus were assembled there, and by 19 August, the first car left the production facility. All products is sold in the market of Kazakhstan.
Today JSC KAMAZ Engineering is one of the most technically equipped and modernized enterprises of Kazakhstan. This enterprise still remains the only producer of the heavy commercial vehicles in Kazakhstan.
Such an integrated approach could lead to success-despite the fact that over the past 8 years, the market conditions significantly changed-the competition and consumer demands are grown, but KAMAZ remains the biggest player in the market for heavy trucks in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Nowadays, KAMAZ has the most powerful and developed dealer and service networks among suppliers of trucks in Kazakhstan: 18 car dealers, more than 26 spare parts dealers and 19 authorized service centers. Of course, these factors have the influence on the company’s performance. The numbers are quite impressive. From 2005 to 2013, only through KAMAZ Trade Company in Kazakhstan, almost 20000 vehicles are shipped. In 2013, the company expects to sell 1319 vehicles.

It’s worth mentioning the achievements of JSC KAMAZ-Engineering. For the period until 2013, they collected and supplied for the consumers in Kazakhstan more than 7000 vehicles.
The service network in Kazakhstan was founded in Soviet times- the automobile centers, dating back to that time are still functioning and they constitute the basis of KAMAZ Service Network in Kazakhstan. So, in the two main cities of Kazakhstan-Astana and Almaty, the automobile centers are 100% KAMAZ property.
In five centers (Aktau, Atyrau, Uralsk, Aktobe and Ust-Kamenogorsk) KAMAZ has 51% share. In total, 18 KAMAZ authorized automobile centers are operating in Kazakhstan. Such a network, without a doubt, is the largest one among the truck supplier, working in the local market. Therefore, almost anywhere in the vast territory of Kazakhstan, the customers of KAMAZ receive the brand-name service and original spare parts!
