World Standards at Gazpromneft-Lubricants Ltd
The second phase of the production facility for mixing, dispensing and packaging of oils was commissioned at the Omsk Lubricants Plant (OLP) at the beginning of April. With an introduction of the high-tech facility, the production capacity of the plant is up to 300 thousand tons of lubricants, including packaging of 180 thousand tons of finished products.
The new facility in Omsk was established in two stages. In May 2012, the first phase facilities, intended for the manufacture of containers and packaging, warehouse of raw materials and finished products, as well as the ultramodern tank farm were commissioned. A fully automated oil mixing station was built during the second stage. Investment in the production facility establishment amounted to about 3.4 billion rubles. Automatic oil mixing station is a key element of the facility. In terms of mixing, packaging, logistics operations, the production facility is fully completed with the commissioning of second phase. Therefore, there are no more restrictions on mixing and production: all types of products, which are in demand on the market, may be produced by the plant>

The oil mixing station is equipped with the British mixing taps, made by Silver Stone. For today, it is the most advanced equipment in the industry. It significantly reduces the time and contact with oil. It is very important not to overheat and not to oxidize the products in the production process. An excellent result was achieved at the OLP – the batch preparation time was reduced twofold, which allowed the oil not to oxidize in the production process. During preparation, it has a lower temperature and, therefore, the best performance, compared to other products. In the process of Silver Stone’s mixing taps operation, there is a powerful vortex flow, which provides a very rapid dissolution of the polymer additive, reduces the product oxidation time that makes it possible quickly to move from one oil group to another, from one product to another, with the minimal loss of time. This allows saving energy, providing the energy-efficient technologies, and therefore, providing the low production cost, which gives a competitive advantage in the market.
As for the formulas, 70 types of them were loaded into the system. Change of formulas, which are in the base, takes place on a daily basis. With the use of order on the operational monitor, it is possible to select a certain type of formula from the data bank, and the system begins to prepare the corresponding products. Formulas of not only the world's leading companies, but also of the in-house manufacture are used at the plant. All three plants of Gazpromneft –Lubricants Ltd. - in Yaroslavl, Moscow region (Fryazino) and Omsk, have the laboratories, dedicated tothe research and development acitivies. In Moscow, all is integrated into a common center of research and product promotion. This center is based at the research part, which is located directly at the enterprises, with the support of industrial science and learning the experience of the leaders in the field of technology. In Moscow, there is the central office of the research center. The science and all the resources are focused on the enterprises. This allows developing the new formulas, as well as a large number of products. In 2013, the company started to develop its own technology. The work with the leading automakers, such as Mercedes Benz Trucks Vostok, Autotor Group of Companies (for General Motors’s cars), Derways AC, etc. allows investing in technologies that belong only to Gazpromneft - Lubricants, and within certain period, the company will exclusively use them.

Finished products of the Omsk Lubricants Plant include more than 500 types of oils and lubricants (1200 headings). These products comply with the international standards, as well as approved by the leading manufacturers of machinery and equipment. They are manufactured under the following brands: G-Energy and Gazpromneft. Also the company produces the marine oils under the Texaco brand. These marine oils are manufactured according to the license of Chevron.
1000 tons of base oils and 2500 tons of additives in filling are stored at the plant. Also 800 tons of additives in barrels may be stored at a special warehouse. In the process of lubricants production, Gazpromneft - SM uses the additive packages of the world leaders on the commercial oil technology development: Lubrizol, Afton Chemical, Chevron Oronite, Infineum. Modern additive packages are the balanced composition of many components— detergents, dispersants, anti-wear and anti-scuff components, antioxidants, antifoam and anticorrosion components, etc
