Nitrogen Application in Kazakhstan’s Oil and Gas Industry
Kazakhstan oil and gas sector offers attractive investment opportunities for leading Western, Asian and Russian oil and gas companies. TEGAS LLC was founded in 2008. The main areas of the Company’s activity - production of compressors, nitrogen plants and spare parts for them, as well as provision of a range of related services. Establishment of a new company from scratch allowed to take into account the extensive compressor industry experience, accumulated in the former Soviet Union, and to use modern and effective business model in production. The nitrogen compressors TGA series are in the highest demand among the whole range equipment, used in the oil and gas sector. TGA is a station for the nitrogen production of up to 99.7% purityfrom the atmosphere gas directly at the operating site. TGA is required in the technological operations, such as:
- fracturing;
- oil wells debit increase;
- capital workover operations;
- cleaning of bottomhole formation zone from mechanical admixtures;
- purging and pressure test of pipelines and tanks;
- creation of an inert environment in refining processes;
- and many other operations that involve compressed nitrogen and compressed air.
Technology, based on membrane separation principle, is used for gas separation at the TGA stations. It involves getting an inert nitrogen-based gas mixture with a concentration of 90-99, 99% from the atmosphere gas directly at the operating site, and at the temperature ranged from -60° c to +45° c.
The principle of operation of the membraneous gas-separating plant is based on varying velocities of gas penetration through the polymer membrane under the influence of the difference in partial pressures on it. The technology involves the use of the latest generation membrane modules, which are characterized by high levels of reliability, the gas separation temperature is up to 82° c, the gas separation pressure is up to 24 Atm.
The membrane technology for nitrogen preparation, used in TGA nitrogen stations, is reliable and durable. Gas separation TGA station plant steadily endures harsh conditions: shaking during transportation, low or high temperatures, high atmosphere humidity.
Variants of stations:
- self-propelled (on the chassis of the required flotation: Kamaz, Kraz, Ural, MZKT, MERCEDES, SCANIA);
- block-modular (in 20-and 40-foot containers);
- on the open frame, shop floor version;
- on a carriage or trailer.

TEGAS offers self-propelled nitrogen TGA stations for rent for short-term projects. Rented nitrogen compressor stations are always ready for operation. Stations crew consists of the qualified personnel of TEGAS.
Sustainable development of oil fields with maximum economic efficiency requires innovative technological solutions: implementation of the block-modular GCS-type equipment type MS - ready for operation mobile compressor plants mounted on the basis of the 20/40 ft maritime shipping container, or own-produced container of designed directly for the compression of various gases, drying and preparation before use.
This arrangement format will allow to apply a large number of useful hardware at the station, while providing high mobility.
