Opening of a kindergarten in Aksai
The Consortium implements the social projects in the region since 1998. During this time both in the regional center and in the rural areas the schools, kindergartens, community centers, health and sports institutions are built and repaired, roads are paved and utility lines are laid - all using funds provided by KPO. The list of projects is determined in cooperation with the local executive authority, which allows to solve the most pressing issues.
For a long time one of the most pressing problems was the condition of the roads. Therefore, a massive road construction was launched across the region. Almost 30 KPO projects this year are aimed at the improvement of the road network. The largest from this list is the overhaul of the Depovskiy bridge in Uralsk. Not to mention that this s not the first such project. A large amount of repair work on the reconstruction of the bridge over a tributary of the Ural River - Chagan River was carried out using investors’ contributions. This bridge connects Uralsk with suburban village of Derkul.

The Depovskiy Bridge also has a strategic importance. It passes over the railway tracks, which became the dividing line between the «old» city and its new buildings in the micro-districts. It is meant not just to build a reliable and durable bridge. Considered that the passenger flow will increase, so instead of two-way traffic it is planned to have a four-way traffic on a new bridge. The bridge will become much wider, additional sidewalks will be added to the both sides of it. The quality control of construction is ongoing, including the project, all building materials and step-by-step execution of works. The experience of the contractor allows to meet all the requirements of the most demanding customer. This contractor already securely built bridges in other regions.
Schoolchildren’s Palace
Education has always belonged among the main priorities of the social program. Using funds of KPO new schools and kindergartens are built and old ones are renovated. And not only that. For example, happy housewarming took place last year, when in Uralsk the Palace of Youth and Schoolchildren was commissioned. It provides everything necessary for еру studies and recreation of the younger generation. In the few blocks with a total area of over 1,500 square meters there are things like gym, field and track training ground, ice skating rink with artificial ice, swimming pool, planetarium, Internet center, photo studio, electronic shooting range, winter garden and choreography studio. One of the blocks hosts a boxing center named after the Olympic champion Daniyar Yeleussinov. At the opening ceremony it was said that KPO projects aimed at the future, they enhance the quality of life and, in particular, the self-realization of the younger generation.
Tennis CenterWith the assistance of Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. the material and technical base of education is also improved in the countryside. For residents of the remote village of Shabdarzhap located in Akzhaik District the beginning of the construction of the new school for 198 seats was a long-awaited event. The old one, built in the middle of the last century, has been considered to be in bad repair. As Deputy Akim of the District Tlek Gabdushev said - the village is growing. For kids school has long since become too small. The lessons in it went in two shifts. The mini-center for small children was located here as well.
People in the village are active, - says Deputy Akim. - They added the gym to the old school themselves, using people’s construction method. Of course, it did not meet the modern requirements. Now the school is equipped with everything necessary for studying, lessons in study groups and workshops. Currently there are already three schools that were built using the funds provided by KPO. They were erected over the past few years in villages of Aksuat, Saykuduk and Koneketken. My fellow countrymen had the opportunity to make sure that all objects of KPO are built with excellent quality. For us, all these housewarmings is a great joy. Because rural school is a center of cultural life, and the prospect of further growth of the residential community .
A celebration house in Uralsk
The sport and health cannot be separated. The residents of the Cisurals will always be proud of such large objects as the Uralsk Ice Sports Palace, a swimming pool, an indoor tennis court. Their construction also was financed by KPO. New opportunities for the development of winter sports will rise after the completion of the refurbishment of the Uralsk Yunost Stadium, work is scheduled to be completed this year. They stipulate that the ice will become more solid. It will be possible to carry out training and competitions at the temperatures up to +10 degrees. According to the information of the regional administration of physical culture and sports, this will primarily help hockey players to achieve high results. By the way, West-Kazakhstan bandy team, established more than 40 years ago, successfully performs at the National and international competitions of the Major League and battles to move to the Super League.
The ice stadium, the season of which will last for two months more, without a doubt, will increase the number of skating enthusiasts. The residents of Uralsk also will be able to combine pleasant and useful in the City Park of Culture and Rest. Using the funds of KPO the construction of a footbridge across the Chagan River was completed here. This greatly increased the area of the Park. On the right bank the bicycle paths have been laid. Access roads are built with a parking lot and landscaping is being carried out.
This summer the construction of a sports and recreation complex began in Burlin village located in the Burlin District. Its population is also growing with constant acceleration. As explained by the Akim of the Burlin rural district, Vladimir Bashtovenko, not only due to increasing birth rate. It is only 36 kilometers to the city of Aksay, which is the administrative center of the District and the field. For that reason many of KPO employees rent apartments in the village. Also the fact that last year the road Burlin-Aksay was renewed using the funds of investors contributed to this situation. The residents of nearby residential communities will also enjoy the services of the sports and recreation complex.
A special care provided to the Burlinsk District, on the territory of which Karachaganak is located. KPO allocated additional 10 million dollars for three years in a row for its development. Among the social projects this year: the repair of roads, construction of the 120-apartment building, and kindergarten for 240 seats. And this is not a complete list. Significant event will be, undoubtedly, the completion of the second phase of the resettlement of Berezovka and Bestau villages who fall under the protective zone of the field in connection with the anticipated expansion of the Karachaganak Project.

- Cooperation and interaction with the local population receives constant attention, - said KPO Deputy Director General Marat Karimov. - Advisory boards are created and public hearings are held. Only Kazakhstani contractors participate in the implementation of the social projects. At the National contest on social responsibility of business KPO twice was awarded the Golden Paryz award, and also received the Silver Paryz award in the Best Social Project nomination. At the 21st World Petroleum Congress KPO received KAZENERGY Association Medal for its contribution to the development of mutually beneficial cooperation. This is recognition of the Company’s achievements and its contribution to the sustainable development of the region.
