General Director of QazaqGaz Exploration and Production Almas Kuandykov spoke about the implementation of the Roadmap to increase the resource base of commercial gas. The plan provides for the launch of several fields, with reference to the press service of the national company QazaqGaz.

According to Almas Kuandykov, active work is underway to put the Anabay field into operation.

“We plan to put this field into operation in the third quarter of this year. The field development is currently underway. The initial production will be 16 million cubic metres with an increase to 40 million cubic metres per year. It is planned to create about 100 jobs for the construction period,” Almas Kuandykov said at the 1st Kazakhstan Conference on Drilling, Maintenance and Geophysics.

Design work is underway at the Pridorozhnoye field. At the end of next year, it is planned to start construction and installation work on the construction of the GTP (complex gas treatment unit). Initial production will amount to 107 million cubic metres with an increase to 300 million cubic metres of gas per year.

To develop its own gas resource base, QazaqGaz is actively working to obtain licenses for geological exploration of subsoil and exploration of new areas. The national company plans to work in the Mangyshlak, Caspian and Aral basins, as well as in the Aktobe region. Promising areas have now been identified, and seismic exploration is expected.
