"In the first half of 2023, crude oil production volumes totalled 14.9 million tonnes (118.9 million barrels)," the information said.

TCO sold more than 634,000 tonnes of liquefied gas, 469 million cubic metres of dry gas, and more than 1.4 million tonnes of sulphur over the same period.

The Tengiz oil field was discovered in 1979 and is one of the largest and deepest oil fields in the world.

Total explored reserves in the Tengiz reservoir are 3.1 billion (25 billion barrels) and 200 million tonnes (1.6 billion barrels) in the Korolev field. The recoverable oil reserves of the Tengiz and Korolev fields are equal to 1.4 billion tonnes (11.5 billion barrels).
