KMG-Karachaganak

Almas Kuandykov has been appointed General Director of KMG-Karachaganak LLP.

Almas graduated from the University of Tulsa (USA) with a degree in Petroleum Engineering.

He began his career in 2010 at Statoil in Norway as a development engineer in the business development department.

From 2011 to 2013, he worked as a development engineer in the field development department at ExxonMobil in Houston (USA).

From 2013 to 2017, he worked at NCOC as a development engineer in the technical unit, lead engineer for technical and business issues in the strategic unit and coordinator for sulfur exports in the production unit.

From 2017 to 2019, he worked as Deputy General Director for Business Development and New Projects at Meridian Petroleum.

From May 2019, he worked as Deputy Director of the Department of Non-Operating Production Assets, followed by a transfer in May 2020 to the position of Head of the Kashagan and Karachaganak Project Management of KMG.

From May 2022 to July 2024, he held the position of CEO of QazaqGaz Exploration and Production.
