KMG Kashagan

The Kazakh tanker Taraz with Kashagan oil left the port of Aktau in the direction of Baku.

The supply is carried out as part of the execution by the KazMunayGas group of companies of the instructions of President Tokayev on the development of alternative export routes for domestic hydrocarbons.

In the future, oil will be transported through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline system to the Mediterranean Sea. The exporter is KMG Kashagan B.V. This step contributes to the further development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport route.

It should be recalled that in 2022, KazMunayGas (KMG) and the state oil company of Azerbaijan SOCAR signed a general agreement on the transit of Kazakh oil.

In March 2024, KMG and SOCAR signed an agreement on a phased increase in oil transit volumes through the territory of Azerbaijan. According to the document, the volume of supplies will be increased to 2.2 million tonnes per year.
