Silleno LLP has signed a long-term agreement with Air Liquide Karabatan Tech Gases LLP (ALKTG) for the supply of nitrogen and compressed dry air to the future polyethylene plant in Atyrau region with an annual capacity of 1.25 million tonnes.
Under the agreement, ALKTG will build and operate two state-of-the-art, energy-efficient air separation units (ASUs) to produce high-purity nitrogen. The facility will rank among the largest industrial gas facilities in the Central Asian region.
ALKTG's investment in the project will amount to 70 million euros. The facility will be located within the National Industrial Petrochemical Technopark, near the future Silleno polyethylene plant.
The industrial gas complex is scheduled to commence supplies by the end of 2028. Particular attention will also be given to the development of local content as part of the project.
Compressed dry air and nitrogen are widely used in industrial processes and are also essential for the operation of control systems, automation equipment, and instrumentation at the future polyethylene plant, which will produce high-value-added products.
Silleno LLP is a joint venture of KazMunayGas NC JSC (40%), Sinopec (30%), and SIBUR (30%), implementing one of Kazakhstan’s largest petrochemical projects - the construction of a polyethylene plant with an annual production capacity of 1.25 million tonnes. The facility is located within the National Industrial Petrochemical Technopark in the Atyrau region.
Air Liquide Karabatan Tech Gases LLP (ALKTG) is a subsidiary of Air Liquide Munay Tech Gases LLP (ALMTG), established in 2016. ALMTG is a joint venture between Air Liquide and KazMunayGas NC JSC, with ownership stakes of 75% and 25%, respectively.
