August 2020KazMunayGas refineries
Kazakhstani KazMunayGas refineries reduced the processing of raw materials by 9.7%, to 6.02 million tonnes. The company's Romanian refineries reduced refining by 31.8%, to 2.27 million tonnes in 6 months of 2020, KMG reported. The total volume of raw materials processing at KazMunayGas plants decreased by 17.1% to 8.29 million tonnes in the first half of the year. The volume of oil products production decreased by 18.3%, amounting to 7.65 million tonnes. The decline in refining was mainly due to the stoppage of production at the Petromidia refinery in connection with the planned overhaul in the period from March 15 to May 1, 2020.
“The decrease is due to a decrease in oil refining volumes at the Pavlodar refinery and PKOP in order to avoid overstocking of oil products and due to the influence of coronavirus infection on the consumption of oil products,” the company noted.
Kazakhstani refineries produced 5.41 million tonnes of petroleum products, which is 11.3% less than in the same period in 2019. Plants of KMG International produced 2.23 million tonnes of petroleum products, which is 31.5% less than in the first half of 2019.
