French oil and gas company Total plans to invest 70 billion tenge in Kazakhstan over 5 years. According to Energy Minister Magzum Mirzagaliyev, the following activities will be carried out within the framework of the development plan of the Mangystau region for 2021-2025.
"Firstly, an extension of the production sharing agreement for the Dunga field from 2024 to 2039 was signed with Total. In exchange, Total will invest about 70 billion tenge in 2021-2025, which will result in an increase in oil production by 25%," he said.
Thus, the increase in production will be from the current 680 thousand tonnes to 860 thousand tonnes per year. Thanks to this, according to Mirzagaliyev, about 400 jobs will be created at the peak of construction work.
