Sanzhar Zharkeshov has been appointed acting chairman of the board of the QazaqGaz national company. By the decision of the board of directors of the national company QazaqGaz, in agreement with the board of Samruk-Kazyna, Sanjar Zharkeshov was appointed acting chairman of the board of QazaqGaz, the company said.

 

Zharkeshov began his career in 2008 as a research engineer at the Centre for Petroleum and Geosystem Engineering to improve oil and gas recovery through the use of chemical technologies in Austin, Texas (USA).

 

Over the years, he led field supervisors for Merlin ERD in Perth (Scotland), was a global oil and gas industry expert in the London office of McKinsey and Company on projects in Columbia, Oman, Russia, Alaska, USA and Great Britain, and also held the position of Vice Minister of Ecology, geology and natural resources of Kazakhstan. From 2020 to 2022, he worked as Deputy General Director of Naftogaz UGV for Geology and Development (Ukraine).
