Oil production at Kashagan is not guaranteed in the 2nd half of 2016, as informs Magzum Mirzagaliev, Deputy Minister of Energy of the RoK, according to KazTAG. "The guarantees (on oil production at Kashagan in 2nd half of 2016) are not feasible. It is purely a business issue. When we expected to launch Kashagan, no one thought that there will be problems at such very sophisticated field, specifically at one of the simplest areas, i.e. the pipeline," said Mr.Mirzagaliev at the press conference, held within the frameworks of 22nd Kazakhstan’s International Conference KIOGE.
"There is one fact that makes us happy - the production at Kashagan was started before, oil is there, and we still hope that after the pipe replacement in 2016, the oil production will begin," - he added. In the opinion of representative of the Ministry of Energy, “the prospects of oil and gas industry of Kazakhstan are quite good”. "Indeed, another delay occurred at Kashagan field. Based on the data that we obtained from the Contractor; nevertheless, it is expected that in the 2nd half of 2016, the oil production at Kashagan will begin and accordingly, it will clarify the present situation with our petroleum industry," - he concludes.
