KazMunayGas has received a positive conclusion on the feasibility study for modernization of Pavlodar Oil Refinery. The feasibility study was elaborated within an «Agreement on cooperation and mutual understanding under making investments into the industrial infrastructure facilities in the Republic of Kazakhstan» signed between KMG and Eni of Italy on November 5, 2009.
The project is operated by «KMG’s Unit for Implementation of Projects with Italian Eni» led by the general director N. Balgimbayev. It is envisaged by the modernization project to increase the plant’s annual capacity up to 7.5 million tons of crude oil with a depth of processing reaching 90 %, to increase the production of petroleum products and provide the quality of products meeting the Euro-5 environmental standard.
It is planned to build 5 new units with 2 existing units to be reprofiled and 8 – reconstructed. Also, it is planned to build necessary common services facilities, informs KMG’s press-service.
