Summarizing. National Company «KazMunayGas» has announced its performance results in 2016

Production and Financial Indicators In 2016, the consolidated volume of oil and gas condensate production across the NC KMG group of companies amounted to 22.639 mln tons. The total production volume in the brown-fields group reached 15.981 mln tons. Natural and associated gas production amounted to 7.384 bln m3. Oil transportation volume through main pipelines amounted to 56.6 mln tones. Oil transportation by sea in 2016 made up 7.082 mln tons.

Large-scale Sale
Kazakhstan has announced the large-scale state property sale. The privatization officially started in December 2015, when the government by the resolution No.1141 approved the list of state and quasi-public facilities to be sold to private investors within the following four years. The list includes around one thousand communal and republic property enterprises, subsidiaries and affiliates of the national and managing holdings, and the national companies themselves.

The official meeting of the OPEC member countries on May 25 and the subsequent meeting of 24 countries participating in the agreement on the reduction of oil production did not bring surprises. The decision recommended on the eve of the ministerial monitoring committee on the prolongation of the contract for 9 months - until March 2018, was made. Reduction quotas for OPEC and non-OPEC countries were retained, and no new participants were added. As a result, the price of oil on the same day, went down.

History of mutually beneficial partnership began in the summer of 1997 when on June 4 at the Presidential Palace in Almaty in the presence of the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and the Vice-Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Li Lanqing the Agreement on sale of shares of Aktobemunaigas JSC was signed. The ceremony was preceded by an investment tender, which CNPC in overt struggle defeated their rivals from America, Canada and Japan.

Subsoil Code: What Oil Industry Investors Should Expect?

In summer 2015, the Concept of the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Subsoil and Subsoil Use" (hereinafter, the Concept) was approved in Kazakhstan and it was resolved to draft and adopt the Code. According to the Legislative Drafting Plan for 2017, the Draft Code (hereinafter, the Code or Draft) is to the submitted to the Parliament in September 2017. The Subsoil Code is expected to enter into force from 1 July 2018.

«Global Oil&Gas Atyrau 2017»: It is not the Time of the «Oil Era Downhill» Yet

April, 11 to 13, the largest oil industry event took place in Atyrau, the oil capital of Kazakhstan - North-Caspian regional exhibition “Global Oil&Gas Atyrau 2017”.
The opening delegation included: the Akim of Atyrau region Nurlan Nogayev, the Deputy Chairman of “KAZENERGY” Association Uzakbai Karabalin, the General Consul of Germany Jorn Rosenberg, the trade representative of the Russian Federation in Kazakhstan Alexandr Yakovlev, the General Director (Chairman of the Board) of “Atyrau Refinery” LLP Galimzhan Amanturlin, the Deputy General Director of “Embamunaigas” JSC Aibolat Gabdullin, the entrepreneur and shareholder of “Anaco”, “Atyrauneftemash”, “Zaman Energo”, “Sagat Energy”, “Belkamit” Sagat Tugelbayev, and diplomatic mission representatives and exhibition organizers.

Historical milestones of the oil industry origin in Kazakhstan are the dates, when the oil was discovered in 1899 at Karashungul, the oil presence was proven and, hence, the production at the Dossor (in 1911) and Makat fields (in 1915) was started. Thus, the Embaneft is the oldest oil producing enterprise in the country, which recently celebrated its 95th anniversary.
