French oil and gas company Total has acquired a 75 % interest each in two concessions on the development of Northern and Southern blocks in the southwest part of Kazakhstan where earlier the operator was the Kazakhstan company Nurmunai Petrogas, informed the French company.

The Aral Sea

Drilling of the first well to a depth of up to 4 000 m in eastern Aral Sea region is planned to commence in the next year, informed the inspection of geology and subsoil use of the Kyzylorda region. “In 2012-2013 Maksat LLP plans to renew exploration of oil bearing fields and hydrocarbon deposits on the operational territory in the Aral and Kazalinsk regions.”

The service of external relations and information of the Atyrau Oil Refinery LLP informed about the appointment as the plant’s general director Arman Kairdenov since November 21, 2012. Talgat Baitaziyev, earlier holding the post of general director, was released from his post under voluntary termination.

American oil and gas company ConocoPhillips has notified the authorities of Kazakhstan and the partners in the project for the development of the giant oil field Kashagan on its intention to sell a share in the Production Sharing Agreement on  Northern Caspian (PSANC), comprising 8.4 %, to the Indian ONGC Videsh Limited.  Press-release of ConocoPhillips informs about it.

 Since August 1, Beimbet Shayakhmetov again has started to execute the duties of general director of the Kazakh-Chinese JV, Asian Gas Pipeline LLP. He left this post on May 7, 2012 when he was replaced by Таlgat Taubaldiyev.

 A credit agreement was signed on August 8 in Tokyo with Japan Bank for International Cooperation and Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi UFJ worth $297.5 million for the construction of the deep conversion facility at the Atyrau Oil Refinery (ANPZ).
