The British company Roxi Petroleum, specialising in oil and gas projects in Kazakhstan, has published operational results on the exploration well 135 of the structure North Elemes.
Well 135, located in the operational territory of BNG, was drilled to a total depth of 2950 metres on February 10, 2011. Under the data of standard logging, the well does not present commercial interest and will be sealed. "We are disappointed that we have not discovered hydrocarbons in well 135. Nevertheless, we have received valuable information on defining potential of the Jurassic formation and we will use it further", stressed David Wilkes, company's CEO.
Roxi Petroleum declared about the start of drilling the exploration well 135 in late December of the last year. Roxi Petroleum was formed in October 2006 to develop the oil and gas fields in Central Asia. BNG Ltd was acquired by Roxi Petroleum in 2008 through the purchase of a 59 % interest in Eragon Petroleum PLC which conducted development of three fields in Western Kazakhstan. After transfer of a 35 % interest in BNG's field to Canamens, Roxi Petroleum holds 23.41 %.
