Supply of COVID-19 medicines arrived in Kazakhstan
Chevron supports Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Health with purchase and delivery.
Almaty, Kazakhstan, October 7, 2020 — In an initiative supported by Chevron Corporation the first shipment of medicines used in the treatment of patients with COVID-19 arrived in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Chevron has purchased and delivered this supply of medicines as part of humanitarian aid provided to the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
"This is not the first time when Chevron demonstrates the social responsibility. You always take an active part in solving topical issues in Kazakhstan. I would like to thank you for provision of humanitarian aid and medicines to our country. Together we will overcome the spread of coronavirus infection and pneumonia in Kazakhstan", Aleksey Tsoy, Health Minister said.
“On behalf of Chevron, we are pleased to announce the first shipment of medicines that have arrived into Almaty and will be distributed to patients through outpatient clinics and hospitals in Kazakhstan’, said John Baltz, Managing Director of Chevron’s Eurasia Business Unit. “With this donation, we would like to extend our support to the people of Kazakhstan during these challenging times,”
The donation will support Kazakhstan’s efforts in trying to control the spread of COVID 19. To help address the country’s needs in working to combat the pandemic, Chevron engaged with the Ministry of Health to identify which medicines Kazakhstan urgently required.
In addition to the supply of medicines, the program also includes the purchase and delivery of medical equipment and training for healthcare workers engaged in treating patients with COVID-19.
