The global assurance and advisory firm EY has announced the appointment of a new Tax & Law Leader for Kazakhstan and Central Asia
On 2 July 2018, Dinara Tanasheva took over as EY’s Tax & Law Leader in Kazakhstan and Central Asia.
“I’m returning to EY after a two-year break. Sometimes it’s good to take a pause – in a sense, to restart your career. It can be a way of generating new ideas, thinking about alternative business strategies and getting a more objective view of the market and its potential,”says Dinara Tanasheva. “I kept in touch with my colleagues during this pause, and today I’m very happy to be rejoining the EY team. I know we’ll have many interesting projects to work on together.”
Dinara has over twenty years of experience providing legal services and advice on investment projects to international and Kazakhstani companies. Dinara specializes in tax and customs dispute resolution and in corporate and labor law. As a Partner, Dinara headed EY’s legal practice in Kazakhstan.
“I’m pleased to welcome Dinara back to EY in her new role,”says Erlan Dosymbekov, EY’s Managing Partner for Kazakhstan and Central Asia. “Dinara is not only a top professional, she is also skilled at building an effective team and inspiring team members to achieve their potential. I would also note Dinara’s active participation in the working groups and committees of such leading business associations as the European Business Association of Kazakhstan (EUROBAK), the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) and the Foreign Investors’ Council under the President of Kazakhstan and her important contribution in formulating proposals to improve the laws of Kazakhstan.”
Dinara Tanasheva has plans for EY’s Tax & Law practice: “This is a very interesting time,” she says, “a period of modernization and digitization, and EY’s global network offers a wealth of opportunities in this area. My plans include taking maximum advantage of these opportunities and advanced digital technologies on the markets of Kazakhstan and Central Asia. We will be heavily involved in developing our own digital competencies, facilitating our clients’ digital transformation and working to take the professional services market as a whole to a qualitatively new level.”
