December 1, Imer Bonner has been appointed the new General Director of Tengizchevroil — the largest producing joint venture in Kazakhstan. "Imer Bonner, who previously held the position of General Manager for Production at TCO, replaced Ted Etchison as General Director of Tengizchevroil LLP starting from December 1, 2018. Former General Director of TCO, Ted Etchison, goes on a well-deserved rest after almost 38 years of work in Chevron Corporation, where he held various positions in the field of design, production and management in a number of business units in Indonesia, Nigeria, Kazakhstan and the United States," — the company said. Since 2015, Imer Bonner has worked as General Manager of TCO production. In 2012-2013, she held the position of Deputy Managing Director of the Eurasian division of Chevron Corporation in Almaty.
December 1, the press-service of KazMunayGas informed that Chairman of the Board of KMG Alik Aidarbayev and President of LUKOIL PJSC Vagit Alekperov, on behalf of LUKOIL Kazakhstan Upstream LLP, signed an agreement in Moscow on joint activities and a financing agreement for the Zhenis project. According to the signed documents, both companies have agreed on the terms of the Zhenis project implementation, the eponymous site of which is located in the Kazakhstani part of the Caspian sea.
The signing of agreements, in accordance with the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On subsoil and subsoil use", will allow to apply to the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan for direct negotiations and conclusion between the competent authority, NC KazMunayGas JSC and LUKOIL Kazakhstan Upstream LLP of a contract for exploration and production of hydrocarbons.
December 11, President Nursultan Nazarbayev launched the construction of the Saryarka main gas pipeline, which will develop gas infrastructure in the Central and Northern parts of the country, as well as the capital – city of Astana.
During the national teleconference "The Second Five-Year Plan of Industrialization. Made in Kazakhstan" General Director of AstanaGas KMG JSC Sagidulla Makashev appealed to the head of state and told about the project: "Dear leader of the nation! One of the five social initiatives you have announced is the gasification of the Central and Northern parts of the country. The Saryarka main gas pipeline will pass along the Kyzylorda-Zhezkazgan-Karaganda-Temirtau-Astana route. The length is 1061 kilometers with a capacity of 2.2 billion cubic meters of gas per year. The implementation of this project will provide gas to 2 million 700 thousand Kazakhstanis. Mr. President! Allow me to install a special capsule with a message to the future generation as a good beginning of the first phase of the Saryarka project!, — said Sagidulla Makashev.
The head of state congratulated all citizens of Kazakhstan on the significant event, noting that this is the largest project in the country, and "finally, Kazakhstan as a state producing oil and gas, will begin to provide the Center and the North of the country with natural gas." "I wish to complete the construction of this facility in time," — said Nursultan Nazarbayev and then gave the command to lay the capsule.
December 11, a modern gas processing complex was put into operation at the Kozhasai field in Aktobe region.
Gas processing plant of Gas Processing Company LLP will allow rational use of the raw material base of the region, increase the volume of associated petroleum gas processing and significantly reduce emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere.
The Project Manager of Gas Processing Company LLP Bulat Saktaganov stressed that "one of the largest industrial projects of the gas industry of the country has been put into operation. The plant is equipped with the latest technologies that meet the most modern requirements. This plays an important role in replenishing the country's resource base with commercial gas. The national operator KazTransGas JSC has built all the necessary infrastructure for the transportation of gas to domestic and foreign markets." Commissioned gas processing plant with a capacity of 40 thousand cubic meters per hour provides processing of associated petroleum gas and allows to obtain 226 mln cubic meters of commercial gas per year, 37 thousand tons of propane-butane mixture, 5.4 thousand tons of gas condensate, 10.5 thousand tons of granulated sulfur. 70% of the production of the new gas processing complex will be exported through the Bukhara-Ural main gas pipeline.
December 11, the Minister of Energy by his order approved the maximum price of liquefied petroleum gas, sold in the framework of the plan for the supply of liquefied petroleum gas to the domestic market of the Republic of Kazakhstan outside the electronic trading platforms.
