The regional high-flying event targets virtual global presence. SPE's Annual Caspian Technical Conference is going Online this year
The unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic has affected a number of high-profile events this year and SPE's Caspian Technical Conference was no exception. At this time of uncertainty, we have all had to adjust to this new reality and learn to work and communicate with each other efficiently.

This summer the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) decided to hold the 7th edition of its renowned Caspian Technical Conference (CTC) in a new online format from 21 to 22 October 2020. The event will be hosted by Kazmunaigaz, the long-standing partner of the SPE event.
During these challenging times it has never been more important to keep the Caspian oil and gas industry connected. SPE’s Virtual Caspian Technical Conference will bring you the same high-quality content, high-level speakers and inclusive learning experience as an in-person event.
Traditionally, the conference has attracted a diverse mix of professionals, researchers, and policy-makers to meet and share their expert opinions on current landmarks and challenges, future trends and advances in the oil and gas industry. This time the new format will provide a series of interactive technical content opportunities, collaboration experiences including live speaker Q&A's, 1:1 chats and group networking lounges.
The last six months have exposed a number of challenging issues across governments and industries. During this year’s CTC, the experts will discuss tangible approaches on how oil and gas companies can make organisational, cultural and structural changes, simplifying and localising supply chains, reinventing themselves and putting the purpose and impact at the heart of their activities.
Themed as ‘Competing on a Global Scale: Creating the Right Environment’, the event will deliver a high quality peer-reviewed technical programme consisting of an Opening Ceremony, Investor and Operator panel discussions, 2 x keynote panels and 12+ technical sessions. All with interactive Q&A's. Participants will have access to both live and on-demand content for up to 30 days post-event.
At this year's virtual event, there is also the unique opportunity to access all the event presentations 1 week before the conference start date. This gives you the added benefit of viewing them around your schedule and to make the most of our interactive engagement hub across 21-22 October where you can connect directly with our expert speakers.
The conference's technical programme will be presented by an enviable team of speakers. Our Opening Ceremony brings you oil and gas industry leaders from, KMG, SPE, Ministry of Ecology, Ministry of Energy, and KAZENERGY. We have a number of panel sessions including “Future Energy: Energy Transition 2020 – 2040”, with Alex Stillavato, Managing Director of Arm Wind (ENI company in Kazakhstan). He will present the latest trends and projects in the renewable sector, as well as the company's vision on the Energy Transition Journey. You can also hear from Nicolo Aggogeri, ENI, who will contribute to the discussions within the panel “Driving Economic Success in Today’s Operational Landscape”. You can view the full event schedule on our website.

This year’s Caspian Technical Conference will feature more than 50 technical paper presentations, poster sessions, and keynote panellists, and will provide attendee’s with a unique opportunity to network with industry leaders and ESP experts locally and from across the globe to share technical knowledge and explore future innovations and challenges.
The event has the support of a range of leading oil and gas players in the Caspian region, including host KMG, Ministries of Energy and Ecology, Geology and Natural resources and KAZENERGY. There is also sponsorship support from NCOC, TCO, Chevron, ExxonMobil, DeGolyer & MacNaughton, and Shell.
