Results Recap: International Exhibition ''Gas. Oil. Technologies'' in Ufa
From May 23 to 26, 2023, the 31st International Exhibition "Gas. Oil. Technologies" and the Russian Petrochemical Forum took place in Ufa. The event was organized by the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan, the Ministry of Industry, Energy, and Innovations of the Republic, and the Bashkir Exhibition Company, supported by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation. Professional federal associations and unions also assisted in the implementation.
The general partner of the event was Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat LLC. Other partners included Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Ufa LLC, Gazprom Gazoraspredeleniye Ufa PJSC, and Ishimbay Specialized Chemical Plant of Catalysts LLC.
These events are considered among the best in Russia for showcasing the latest technological processes and equipment in the petrochemical industry and facilitating constructive dialogue between industry specialists. They also rank among the top five key events in Russia's petrochemical sector.
Several notable figures participated in the grand opening ceremony of the International Exhibition "Gas. Oil. Technologies", including the head of the Republic of Bashkortostan, R.F. Khabirov, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Industry, Energy, and Innovations of the Republic, A.N. Sheldyaev, Director of the Machinery Department for Fuel and Energy Complex of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, M.V. Kuznetsov, and others.
In his welcome speech, the head of the region Radiy Khabirov noted the high interest in the event from both Russian and foreign companies. "We're holding this exhibition at a challenging time for the petrochemical industry, which has weathered strong sanctions. However, the projects being presented here today suggest that the sector is evolving, moving forward, and offering new scientific methods and products."
President of the Union of Oil and Gas Producers of Russia, Gennady Shmal, emphasized the immense role of the Republic's industry in the establishment and development of the country's oil and gas sector and announced, "It has become a good tradition to gather in May on the hospitable land of Bashkortostan to discuss pressing issues related to strengthening Russia's oil and gas complex."
During the grand opening ceremony, three new productions were launched via a teleconference: the initiation of a distribution gas pipeline in the Starry district of the Iglino village, the opening of a production site of the Sibay Line Production Management of Trunk Pipelines in Beloretsk, and a production site of the Technological Transportation and Special Equipment Management in the Ufa district of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
During the opening ceremony, Radik Khabirov, the head of the region, recognized the workers of the industry.
Exhibition and Forum by the Numbers:
- 315 participating companies from 36 regions of Russia, as well as from foreign countries: Iran, China, Uzbekistan, and Belarus;
- 235 of these companies are regular participants, while 80 exhibitors are participating for the first time;
- 14,300 square meters of exhibition space;
- 21,292 specialist-visitors from 62 regions, 108 cities of Russia and 17 cities of the Republic of Bashkortostan;
- 48 industry events: panel discussions, round tables, technical sessions, scientific and practical conferences;
- 515 speakers from 43 cities and regions of Russia and 6 foreign countries (Belarus, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, China), 8,292 delegates (listeners) of the business program;
The business program involves 13 industry associations (associations and unions), 24 Russian and 8 foreign scientific institutions.
Foreign Delegations
- An official delegation from the Republic of Karakalpakstan (Republic of Uzbekistan), led by the First Deputy Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, D.R. Zholdasov.
- An official delegation from the Republic of Azerbaijan, led by the Deputy Chairman of the Agrarian Policy Committee of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, a member of the Azerbaijani-Russian interparliamentary relations working group, S.K. Gadzhiev.
- Business delegation from the Republic of Turkey.
- Business delegation from the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Exhibition Participants
The exhibition traditionally includes the largest Russian companies, leaders in the country's oil and gas complex. Most exhibitors (62%) are regular participants of the exhibition, while 38% of participants have chosen the Ufa platform for the first time to showcase their achievements. A distinct advantage of the "Gas. Oil. Technologies" exhibition is that the absolute majority of participants are manufacturers, presenting their equipment live at the exhibition.
Regions represented with collective stands at the exhibition included: Oryol Region and the Kurgan cluster, and for the first time, the Islamic Republic of Iran presented its enterprises in a collective exposition.
The petrochemical segment of Bashkortostan was represented by companies such as Bashneft (a subsidiary of NK Rosneft), Transneft Ural JSC, Bashkir Soda Company (Sterlitamak), Bashneftgeophysics JSC (Ufa), Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat, Gazprom Transgaz Ufa, SPF Paker, Sterlitamak Petrochemical Plant JSC, AK OZNA JSC (Oktyabrsky) and others. The exhibition took place in indoor and outdoor pavilions covering a total area of 14,300 square meters. Also, this year, due to the great interest in the exhibition and an increase in applications, an additional pavilion was built for the first time.
Business Program
The main event of the business program was the plenary session "Transformation of Russia's Petrochemical Industry: National Priorities and Growth Points," featuring the head of the Republic of Bashkortostan, R.F. Khabirov, the Director of the Department of Mechanical Engineering for the Fuel and Energy Complex of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, M.V. Kuznetsov, and the General Directors of Gazprom Mezhregiongaz, Bashneft, Ishimbay Specialized Chemical Catalyst Plant, and Tatneftekhiminvest-holding. The plenary session was moderated by Vyacheslav Mishchenko, the Director of the Center for Strategy and Technology Development Analysis, a member of the Expert Council at the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation.
Over four days, the Russian Petrochemical Forum hosted 48 business events, with over 515 speakers from 43 cities in Russia and 6 foreign countries (Belarus, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, China) participating.
For the second year in a row, the enlightening project "Gas Dictation" took place at the forum. The goal of this project is to increase the interest of teenagers and young people in the gas industry, provide opportunities for gaining additional knowledge, and motivate them to choose a career in the sector.
On the opening day of the Forum, the Lean Production Championship among chemical complex enterprises-2023 was held.
Within the Youth Program of the forum, the following events were conducted: the All-Russian Youth Scientific and Practical Conference "Geological and Geophysical Studies of Oil and Gas Reservoirs," the International Student Olympiad "Processes and Devices of Chemical Technology," and hackathons in the fields of "Technological Sovereignty Technologies of the Russian Federation" and "Digital Solutions in the Fuel and Energy Complex."
On the final day of the forum, the award ceremony for the winners of the "Best Products of Bashkortostan-2023" competition took place, where 103 winners were determined in 5 categories.
