The exhibition in Аtyrau promotes creation of new productions
In early April, in Atyrau, two large events were held in the Kazakhstan's oil and gas calendar: exhibition Atyrau Oil & Gas and Technological Conference OilTech Atyrau the permanent organizers of which are the Kazakhstani exhibition company Iteca and its international partners ITE Group Plc (the UK) and GIMA (Germany).

In his opening speech at Atyrau Oil & Gas 2012 (3-5 April 2012), Bolat Daukenov, the First Deputy Mayor of the Atyrau Region, mentioned the region’s appeal to investors and spoke about the €6.3bn National Industrial Petrochemical Technopark, which offers special tax and customs breaks alongside other benefits. This was of particular interest to French companies - one such company, Ecoceane, has been contracted to supply workboats for cleaning up oil spills and seaborne refuse. Four of these vessels are already in operation in Azerbaijan, and according to company representatives another example model will soon arrive in Bautino in Kazakhstan.

140 companies exhibited at Atyrau Oil & Gas this year representing 15 countries: Azerbaijan, the UK, Germany, Italy, Kazakhstan, Canada, China, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, Romania, the USA, Ukraine, the Czech Republic, and France. For the first time in the event’s history there was significant representation from a group of French and Canadian companies. The French companies’ participation was organised by the UBIFRANCE trade mission, while the Canadian firms exhibited together at the Canadian Embassy stand. There was also the chance for the event’s 4,259 visitors to find out about the investment projects planned for the Atyrau Region at the Atyrau Regional Administration exhibition stand.
The exhibition, taking place for the 11th time, boasted almost twice as much exhibition space as the previous year’s event, as this year the exhibition was held in a pavilion temporarily erected by Iteca at the Atyrau Sports Complex.
