OIL REFINERIES OF THE COUNTRY PRODUCED 3 MILLION TONS OF GASOLINE OVER A YEAR - 4% HIGHER THAN A YEAR EARLIER PRODUCTION OF DIESEL FUEL, ON THE CONTRARY, DECLINED BY 6% - DOWN TO 4 MILLION TONS

Gasoline price went up 17-21% over a year, depending on the brand, summer diesel fuel by 22%, winter by 27%.
According to the results of 2017, production of petrochemical products reached 709.6 billion tenge in monetary terms, which is 14.2% higher than a year earlier.
Atyrau Region (Atyrau Refinery is located there) contributed 59.3% of all production, 12% was refined in Pavlodar Region (Pavlodar Oil Chemistry Refinery operates in this region - POCP), and 11.2% in South Kazakhstan Region (PetroKazakhstan Oil Products Shymkent Oil Refinery is situated in this region - PKOP).
Starting January 1st, 2018, all three refineries of Kazakhstan switched to the production of K4 and K5 (equivalent of Euro-4, Euro-5) environmental classes diesel fuel.
Previously, from July of 2017, the Shymkent oil refinery began producing high-octane gasoline of K4 and K5 environmental classes. The first batch of K4 class gasoline at the Pavlodar PCP was dispatched on November of last year. In addition, by the end of last year Advanced Oil Refining Complex begun operating in Atyrau, which will significantly increase the production of K4, K5 quality motor gasoline at the Atyrau Refinery.
We remind that import and production of K2, K3 environmental classes petroleum products is prohibited (except for experimental-industrial batches) on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan starting from January 1, 2018. However, K2 class fuel can be used until it runs out at tank farm complexes and gas stations.
