Kazakhstan will create a new national gas company- KazakhGas, reports KazTAG, referring to a source in the oil and gas industry. KazTransGas and it subsidiaries-KazTransGas Aimak (distribution networks-KazTAG), Intergas Central Asia (main pipeline transportation-remark of KazTAG) and other subsidiaries will join the unified national company KazakhGas and they withdraw their assets from the National Company KazMunaiGas.
This decision will be disclosed after May 1”,-informs the source. According to him, the current General Director of KazTransGas, Kairat Sharipbaev is likely to become the new head of KazakhGas. At the same time, the restructuring of the national company will require a reduction of 2 thousand employees. "The decision to cut about 2 thousand employees to optimize the work,"-the source said.
KazTransGas JSC manages the natural gas transportation through the main pipelines and sells the gas in the domestic and foreign markets; it designs, finances, builds and operates the pipelines and gas storage facilities.
