Tengiz oilfield, located in Atyrau region, has only 8 thousand tons of sulphur remained, as reports Kazinform news agency, referring to the press service of TCO company. "In the first quarter, TCO sold 910 thousand tons of sulphur that is 146% from the produced 628 thousand tons.
The success with sulphur disposal resulted in reduced volumes at the sulphur maps of Tengiz to 8 thousand tons as of March 31, 2015. Currently, TCO sells the high-quality sulfur for the customers in the countries of the Mediterranean basin and Central Asia, Russia, Ukraine and China, as informs the press service of the Company. Let us remind that in early 2000 's, the sulphur reserves at the Tengiz oilfield have reached 9 million tons. Tengizchevroil was fined for billions due to failure to comply with environmental regulations.
