"National company “KazMunayGas” recognized as unreasonable the consolidation of its affiliated companies - “KazTransGas” and “KazTransOil”, KMG’s press service reported. “JSC NC “KazMunayGas”, taking into account requests of the media and the shareholders of JSC “KazTransOil” regarding the possibility of the consolidation of KMG-group affiliated companies - “KazTransGas” and “KazTransOil”, officially declares that such consolidation was recognized as economically unviable”, - said in a statement.
Earlier, Chairman of the Board of Samruk-Kazyna national fund (the sole shareholder of “KazMunaygas” - IF-K) Umirzak Shukeev said that presence of two pipeline companies in the structure of “KazMunayGas” is unreasonable, and there is a possibility of the consolidation in the future, “Interfax-Kazakhstan” reports. “KazTransOil” is a subject of natural monopoly on the market of midstream operations services. “KazTransGas” is a national operator in the field of gas and gas supply.
Both companies are the part of “KazMunayGas” structure - national operator for prospecting, production, processing and transportation of hydrocarbons, representing the government’s interests in the oil and gas industry of Kazakhstan. The sole shareholder of the national company is Samruk-Kazyna national fund.
