The Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan Nurlan Nogayev received the new General Director of Tengizchevroil Kevin Lyon, the press service of the department reported. Nurlan Nogayev thanked the previous General Director of Tengizchevroil Ymer Bonner for the fruitful joint work, and also wished Kevin Lyon good luck in his work.

 

During his speech, the Minister of Energy noted that, according to the constituent documents of the company, a citizen of Kazakhstan may be appointed as the head of Tengizchevroil in the future, stressing that this step will be a great contribution to the long and successful history of cooperation between the government of Kazakhstan and Chevron. The parties discussed the creation of an international centre for the development of oil and gas engineering, a fund for the development of local content and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the oil and gas sector.

 

The Minister of Energy thanked the company for the assistance that TCO has provided to the country in the fight against the pandemic, and gave a number of instructions regarding the strengthening of sanitary safety measures at the Tengiz field.
