Kazakhstan sends 80% of the exported oil to the EU countries. Energy supplies were discussed in Nur-Sultan by the Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan Nurlan Nogayev and the head of the EU Delegation to Sven-Olov Karlsson, the press service of the Ministry of Energy of the Central Asian country reports.
“The parties discussed issues of joint cooperation in the energy sector, including within the framework of the modernisation of the energy charter agreement, as well as mechanisms for monitoring methane emissions during the production and transportation of hydrocarbons,” the ministry said in a statement.
Karlsson invited the Kazakh minister to take part in the upcoming joint conference Kazakhstan - European Union on climate issues.
