#3 (75), June 2012The Aral Region
In the Eastern Aral region, in the environs of the Каukei village in the Kazalinsk district, Kyzylorda region, the drilling of the first exploration well with a depth of 3.5 km was completed on the operational territory of Nursat-Bauyr & Co. LLP, informed the company’s acting geologist Bereket Tokayev.
According to him, in the 1970s, “several exploration wells were drilled in the Eastern Aral region on the Mesozoic layer, that is, a more high horizon. All of them appeared “dry”.
“We went further and drilled to the Paleozoic layer. In the beginning, we made seismic geological survey: at the first stage – 741 linear km of 2D seismic survey, then 1600 km more. Thus, we managed to define three independent perspective structures and started to drill three exploration wells on them.
Two of them have a depth of 3.5 thousand meters and one – 5 thousand meters,” explained B. Tokayev. According to the geologist, the drillers completed one well and cased a well. “At present, they are dismantling their heavy drill and another drill will be installed instead – light exploratory. Upon its completion, trial testing and well development will be commenced,” informed B. Tokayev.
Under obtaining of successful results, the well will pass to the exploratory regime. That the oil is present in this area, prove the already functioning wells in the Uzbek territory of Eastern Aral,” he explained. “Probability that oil and gas reserves will prove to be true in Eastern Aral is very great,” specified in Nursat-Bauyr & Co. LLP, informs КаzТАG.
