On December 13, Nazarbayev University hosted a showcase of eco-projects from the Sustainability Living Lab (SLL) program, a unique initiative promoting environmental sustainability in Kazakhstan's universities. Students from Nazarbayev University, Karaganda Buketov University, and other domestic higher education institutions presented their eco-projects to journalists.

The commencement of Russian gas deliveries to Uzbekistan via Kazakhstan in early October marked a major headline of 2023 in the global energy market. Several investors involved in the development of the massive Kashagan oil field in the Caspian have informed the Kazakhstan government of their potential recourse to international arbitration. This move comes in response to a $5 bln environmental fine imposed on them, as reported by Bloomberg, citing a source.
The offshore Caspian project, Kalamkas-Sea, Khazar, Auezov, agreed upon for joint implementation by KazMunayGaz and Lukoil, is expected to enter the project documentation phase in the fourth quarter of the current year, as revealed by the head of KMG, Magzum Mirzagaliyev. He noted that the procedures for forming the project operator, Kalamkas-Khazar Operating LLP, are nearing completion.
